A three-day field visit was conducted in three villages within Mylliem block, East Khasi Hills district, Meghalaya, to assess the status and management of springs which are owned by both the community and private individuals. During the visit, water sampling was conducted for various water parameters like pH, TDS, electrical conductivity and salinity of potable spring water. In addition to water sampling, household survey and focus group discussion was also conducted to understand land use patterns for agro-forestry purposes and water dependency of local communities around the spring sources.
